Few women I know would
dare step foot in a book store's 'Self Help' section or admit to sometimes filling out the 'ask yourself the big questions' insert in O Magazine. None the less, even the coolest can, at times, need some good old fashioned inspiration and reflection.
Sabrina Ward Harrison has been painting and journaling her entire young life. Rather than long entries in 'Dear Diary' form, Harrison sprinkles her writings in colorful collages and paintings. The scribbled messages demand a close read and a little focus, and blend in enough to disguise this wise 'self help' as purely hipster art. Her work has been published in a series of books, each capturing different phases of wading into adulthood. They make a great read or a quirky addition to the coffee table.
